I have a kitchen mixer tap which is loose in its seating, i.e. when you move the arm, the base also turns. Do I have to remove the sink to tighten this? I assume it has to be tightened from the underside but this will not be easy with pipes in the way, and since the sink has an inset bowl. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is a nut and bolt (often brass) that you need to tighten
Find someone with a set of mono-bloc spanners or find a deep reach socket on an extension or just struggle for a bit. ;)
You don't need to remove sink; but it might be your last option if you don't have the tools!
