please accept my apologies for my ignorance......

If my heating is on and I turn the hot water on, does the boiler stop heating the radiators while it is heating the water or does it do both at the same time (Worcester Bosch 38cdi)

Yes it stop heating the rads up while the domestic hot water is running, it use a diverta valve to do this.
