Good Morning All,

I am looking into moving my BT Master socket from an upstairs bedroom to a downstairs living space.

My ISV and Phone provider have quoted £160 for Openreach to come out and do the work and even suggested themselves that an electrician may do it for a better price.

As such I am looking at DIY options with various official BT components being available to purchase online.

To minimize cable runs inside the property I am looking at using a BT16A terminal box to terminate the existing drop wire from the telegraph pole to the soffit on the roof and running a new length of drop wire down the wall and into a downstairs room at floor level.

My only problem is I am not sure what type of drop wire I would need to purchase to do the job.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks in anticipation.

Ryan
