Moving front door - Turning porch extension into Office Room

Hi,

Could anyone offer me any guidance and assistance. Just moved into my first home and would be looking to create an additional room at the front of the house by converting the porch extension the previous owner had built. The house also has the kitchen at front. The plan would involve moving the front door to the kitchen area and having a smaller set of windows sit next to it than the current one.

My question would be, Do I need to require any sort of planning permission / approval to move my front door from the porch to the kitchen? as it would still sit at the front

Seeing as no one has answered yet I will say that alteration's to the front of the house a lot of times will involve planning. My local planning dept dont give advice they just come down on you afterwards if you do something that did require it. All done in my opinion so people pay for applications they need not have. Anyway unless someone knows otherwise I think it would be prudent to at least see if your local planning depth will tell you. Good luck. James
