Hi,

Just had a roofer re-felt a dormer window - job completed ok - Afterwards noticed 2 nails protruding from extension flat roof where roofer had his ladder sited whilst working on Dormer. He had obviously put nails in to secure the ladder.

Is this normal practice ? Will the protruding nails cause a leak in the extension flat roof ? Can I remove them ? Will I need to seal them ?

Am I panicking over nothing or is this a horrendous thing to do ?

Its a good idea for the guy to make his ladder safe, but not that way!
Gently remove the nails, make sure everything is dry and generously apply some bitumen coating over the holes.
Check for any expansion or splitting over the summer months, if there's such a thing.
John :)
