hi,

I going to replace the ceiling in my toilet. I'm going to fit 2 down lights, I currently have 1 light fitted.

I will be taking the ceiling down and boarding it myself, then get a plasterer in to do the plastering. I havnt got a plasterer yet.

My question is, when the ceiling is boarded, do I cut the holes for the down lights before or after the ceiling has been plastered?

Thanks for any replies.

You could do it either way, but most would cut the holes first, get the cables in place, then plaster. Plastering first means there is always the chance of a mistake, maybe cutting the hole in the wrong place, , or chipping/damaging the plaster while cutting the hole/s, requiring small repairs, but either way, it's no big deal.
