Hi, currently doing a new single storey kitchen extension. This is coming off the back of the existing house. It will have a flat roof, the brick and block work is up to height and wall plates on.

The thing I cant find any information on is should the joists for the roof be on a wall plate from the existing house or are joist hangers cut into the wall sufficient?

Thanks

Jim

What ever is easiest, if height allows it put them on the original wall page, if not attach a wall plate to the wall and hang joist hangers off that.
