We fitted a new washing machine recently and now each time we use the machine, during some phase of the wash cycle, we get loud intermmittant clunking noises from one of the combi boiler pipes.

It only lasts for the duration of the wash cycle and then stops.

The boiler pressure pin is in the green indicating ok pressure.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Probably water hammer moving some loose pipes when the inlet cuts off. You can find the puppies and clip them properly, or you can buy a kind of mini pressure vessel to put by the washer inlet to absorb the shocks.

Thanks John, it seems to be happening during the rinse cycle so suspect this is the reason

Depends what boiler it is but most request a shock arrestor as best practice especially where water meters are fitted due to NRV in line.

With the amount of plastic fittings, cheap o rings and cheap German labour, I am fitting them as standard to all combi boilers now regardless. They will cover their warranties!
