We have been having problems for a year with new windows we had fitted. We had 4 windows and a door fitted. They could not put in the 'legally required' lintel so shoved a slab of concrete in the front and left it - that window leaks.

The door leaks to the point where the dog needs a canoe in the hallways when it rains.

Most of all they are all out of line, not one window has a right angle, the seals are misaligned and the joints on the windows inside and out are unsightly.

An Expert witness has said that these are annoying little defects, and that the joints can be 'knifed' to a standard expected of new windows inside and out.

I have attached a couple of pictures, but there are plenty more, this company have harassed us and tried to bully us into paying before they are complete. FENSA failed them back in February, the day they were failed the Company fraudulently claimed a pass cert via the self-cert system.

We have just about had it all. We are back in Court Monday, they have written statements which personally attack us and our home, but no mention of getting the work done!

Expert witness agreed to door was warped and leaking, the joints needed to be re-knifed, 75% of the beading needs to be replaced, but said that with regards to defacing our property, we should just get our home rendered!! I thought it had to be left as it was found. He also said that there were no lintels in the upstairs windows despite being charged for them and told they are a legal requirement.

If you are going to court with the case then best not to give too much information on a public web site ( this forum ) as it could prejudice your case in court.

I am aware of the need to keep things anonymous. I have managed that for he last 12 months, although I am keen to see if anyone can add any final comments particularly in the rectification of joints before we go

Me and my brother in.law replaced my windows three years ago. It hasn't stopped the double glazing companies from ringing my doorbell though.
I recently had a teenage 'canvasser' with a face like a plasticine project in a secure unit craft class tell me he could do me a great deal on my windows. After being polite to him and getting nowhere I escorted him off my curtilage and verbally questioned his parentage.
