I have a tame gas engineer here to replace the oven flame failure sensor, and we need to get to behind the knobs. Unfortunately we have no service manual and there are no visible fixings that we could remove to gain access to the back of the front panel controls.

Could anybody help?

Thermocouple type then.
probably unscrews (anything up to a dozen screws sometimes) from the back of cooker and is on a couple of catches that hold it in place at the front

Actually it required removing side panels in order to find the hidden screws that held the controls on so we could get at the thermocouple screw on the gas control unit. What a faff, but the oven is working again, thanks for that.
