No hot water - any ideas

Hi all. Wife has phoned me in work to tell me that when she turns on the hot water tap, the gas boiler is firing up (well blue flames are visible) but water coming out of tap remains cold.

Any quick suggestions as to what might cause this. Boiler is old as the hills, hasn't been serviced for a while, is a seperate boiler to the central heating one. we are getting a new kitchen with a combi in March - was hoping the existing system would last till then.

The boiler is a Thorn EMI Main Mersey.

Flames mean water is getting a bit warmer at least. She just wants MORE? Wives are like that
Probably just your diaphragm. Rubber and they split. NB the "Super" model's is different , if you're ordering.
