Friend getting error when trying to make wireless connection when trying to connect it is as follows.

Windows is not currently managing your wireless network. To diagnose this wireless connection Windows needs to be managing the connection. If you are using a non Microsoft application, refer to that application to troubleshoot the wireless problems.

Person I am trying to help is using a Belkin card and has Windows XP.

Mine does same have to go into Belkin software to get it to look for connection. And it falls out on regular basis so now hard wired. The Lap Top works fine so router OK and I'm not getting another dongle for a test top better hard wired.

Either let the router manage the connection, or let Windoze do it

They can't both manage it :)

I assume you meant the 'card' not the 'router'.

But yes, either let the card's software sort it, or tunr it off and lets windows zerop config do the job.
I nearly always use windows, but beware some card's will ONLY the use of their own software utility for wireless connection (not Belkin though).
