Just had a new Vaillant eko 428 boiler installed and when it starts up it 'roars' for approx 30 mins. When it settles down it still appears to be more noisy than expected. I have listened to a recently installed Worcester boiler and that is quiet on start up and quieter when running than the Vaillant. Is this typical with this boiler, or a problem either on the installation or boiler fault. Help!! Thanks for any feedback :(

Without hearing it or knowing anything about the quality of the installer its difficult to comment objectively.

Vaillant boilers are usually a little more noisy than some Worcester boilers but unless you have a sound level meter I would not expect you to be able to compare them both accurately. people complain about the slightest noise from their boiler and then spend two hours at a football match where all around are shouting their heads off.

There may still be some air in the boiler or the combustion may not be correctly set.

What does th installer say? Did they complete the Benchmark Certificate?

Probably needs a rgi to measure the CO level and adjust the gas valve to correctly set the figures. These tend to be noisy when not set correctly.
