Came across this quote:

I was a socialist myself – but not when I left. The average college kid idealistically wishes everybody could have ice cream and cake for every meal. But as he gets older and gives more thought to his and his fellow man's responsibilities, he finds that it can't work out that way – that some people just won't carry their load.... I believe in welfare – a welfare work program. I don't think a fella should be able to sit on his backside and receive welfare. I'd like to know why well-educated idiots keep apologizing for lazy and complaining people who think the world owes them a living. I'd like to know why they make excuses for cowards who spit in the faces of the police and then run behind the judicial sob sisters. I can't understand these people who carry placards to save the life of some criminal, yet have no thought for the innocent victim.

It's called a symbiotic relationship. The well paid advocates couldn't exist without the underclass, as much as the underclass couldn't exist without the advocates. But you'll never find the advocates living amongst the underclass whom they depend on.

Impressive! I'll tell you the source of my quote if you tell me yours ;)

Happily...I'd like to claim those thoughts as my own, but they come from my brother, though I completely agree with them. He has just retired as a housing officer and has spent many years dealing with both sides, he has a cynical mind and sees through bullshit pretty well.

My source is indeed the Duke. Found it during an extensive search about him after watching the last half hour or so of "The Shootist" yesterday.

Talking about looking things up, I'm thinking of commissioning someone to find out about a pet interest of mine. Does anyone know of any researchers of considerable repute who frequent here? ;)

What "pets" are you interested in?

Specifically, I'd like someone to write a paper for me about inter-racial domestic violence within gypsy camps in London. Ideally I'd like the text to be heavily over-punctuated with random mis-spellings and read as though written by a stoccatic asthmatic, and include liberal smatterings of erratically placed and non-contextual abuse.

I'm struggling to find anyone who can do this for me. The person would need to have a lot of time on his hands and thus probably not be tied down to a proper dayjob.

Any ideas anyone?

With , writing , puncuated, like this, and whats it got to do with you anyway,"1!

Pretty obvious,
