Of Afghanistan At Last!

But at a dreadful cost:

453 killed
2188 wounded
13 year conflict
£37 billion spent

Only a matter of time now before the teleban take over.

£37 billion?

Absolute madness.

And what have we achieved?

Oh, yes. It has made some MPs look good.

Where next?
Wherever the terrorists we have helped create choose to base themselves next ;)

And you only need to understand why our 'leaders' decided that honouring the dead soldiers at Wootten Bassett had to be stopped in order to deflect the real cost of the perpetual ineffectual 'war on terror'!

All that and there was an Afghan on the news complaining that Britain hadn't done enough for them. That's gratitude for you.

I realise that you're a supporter and sympathiser of extemesist towel heads. I didn't realise that you would actually admit to helping them progress to being active terrorists.
Do you really believe the s**t you are spouting?

Bit like fighting fire with fire - fighting s**t with s**t.

We decided that rather than bash some heads, and walk off, that we would stay the course and help to build democracy.

But then we decided that was too expensive, difficult and would take time, so we just left instead.

Perfecly reasonable IMO, not our problem if the public of afganistan wants to remain a failed nation, but we did fail a goal we publicly set.

Under our self imposed criteria, we havent done enough.

We invaded in 1838, then in 1878, then again in 1919, We totally failed on all accounts.

The Russians invaded in 1979, and failed,

Our latest attempt is going to be a failure as well, as the Taliban get a stronger grip on the Country,

We should have learnt by past History its an un- winnable situation .

What actions did our 'leaders' take to stop the honouring of our dead service personnel and deflect this attention?
