Paint flaking off plaster repair.

Hi. Must have done something wrong but what?
Made a small repair to a plaster board wall and finished it with a skim of B&Q finishing plaster. Left it for at least 5 days and then painted the whole wall with a roller. Just one coat so far but it is flaking over the repair. Any ideas? Thanks.

If you are talking ready mixed plaster then there is your problem - it's rubbish!

If not, did you seal the repair with a mist coat of watered down emulsion first?

Other than that, I can only guess that the plaster wasn't fully dry.

It was powdered plaster I used but didn't seal it first so that's probably the problem. I'll sand it down and give it a mist coat and try again.
