I've been give this pine bed that has a varnish coating on, but my girlfriend wants it painted. What's the best way to go about this, can I give it a light rub and just undercoat and paint it or do I need to sand it right down/aluminium primer it then undercoat and paint or or can I just smack emulsion straight on after a quick rub?
Also what's the best paint to use, I see a lot of people use farrow and ball
