Painting a shipping container

Hi would anyone happen to know what paint I would be best using to paint a fibreglass shipping container. I looked today whilst in Homebase but was completely baffled and noone there seemed to know. Thanks in advance

If you plan on using standard paint products, it's not necessarily about the finish paint, but the primer you use to achieve good adhesion is vital. Most Zinsser primers are regarded as the best, and their Bullseye 1-2-3 is their best product for priming fibreglass and GRP, so I would recommend that. When it comes to topcoats, it will depend on what finish you want as to what you use. Oil based exterior gloss products would probably be the best, and most reliable, but whatever you choose, make sure it's a good quality brand. That said, you may have difficulty locating the Zinsser in Homebase and may have to do some hunting around. Most decorators merchants sell it these days and so do Screwfix.

You may want to look into marine paint products, as there are probably hundreds of higher quality paints available there, used for fibreglass boats. I can't advise much on those, but a quick Google for marine fibreglass paint comes up with these:
