HI there, I've stripped off polystyrene tiles and thick wall paper from my front porch to cure a damp problem and have some of it plastered.

This is a 160 year old farm house so what you see here is not breezeblock but appears to be pattern in concrete.

I've decided not to plaster one wall which is the internal porch wall to the house.

I'm not 100% sure what the material is but I don't believe it to be stone blocks because the mortar doesn't scrape out at all and the motor lines do not continue behind the old door frame that was butted up against.
My plan it to emulsion the whole of the porch but was wondering if any undercoats will be required for this surface or do I just use mist coats like with new plaster.

Any guidance would be much appreciated
:D
