Are there any tips for painting door frames so as to avoid getting paint on the wooden threshold at the bottom?

I've tried using masking tape in the past, but the paint seems to bleed, so when removing the tape, the edge where the frame meets the wood is not crisp. :(

Any advice is welcome. :)

also pull it off quickly and wipe the threshold clean using a small rag damped with water or white spirit depending on the paint.

if you have a broad metal filling or scraping knife, us it as a guard to prevent the rag touching the painted architrave.

Don't use masking tape at all. Just cut in carefully with not too much paint on the brush.

A bit too risky for me. I'm not brave enough! :D

Use a small brush, like the stuff they sell in art shops.

I'm not sure that will stop my hand shaking at the vital moment! Lol.

So cut out the Jack Daniels when decorating! :D

Lol. That's great advice, but I'm not sure I could face decorating when I'm sober!
