Hi there,

After a bit of advice please. My plumber has installed some new sections of downpipes (cast iron) to my property which are unpainted. I'm wondering what paint people recommend (BTW I'm after a white/off-white (pale cream) finish).

Depending on the paint type, I presume I should probably do two coats? Do I also need to apply an undercoat first?

Also, there is another downpipe which I didn't get replaced yet, as it only has a tiny hole. Would some form of putty help with a temporary fix?

Thanks!

white undercoat , cream gloss . 2 part epoxy putty for the hole ;)

Thanks for your reply Nige!

I guess I just was really wondering if there existed paint specifically for this type of work. I suppose it is simply just paint meant for metal surfaces then...

Crown Solo is good for that sort of thing.
