New House, new ideas, new decor ......

First paint job a disaster. All the walls in the house appear to painted with Vinyl Silk, and the first paint job (yesterday) was to paint the Study (a converted garage, so quite a big room) with Dulux Lumitec Rich Matt.
This morning all the walls are showing cracks in the paint  and I can only put it down to the walls being painted in Vinyl Silk (or a paint that gives off a real shine)

Never come across this problem before, so for future reference what is the best way to treat the Vinyl Silk painted walls before decorating?

As the whole house is painted like this, might be looking for a good reliable painter and decorator in the Bath area if anyone knows of one!!! ;)

The best bet for problem painted walls is us an oil based undercoat. It stops water in the final coat reacting with the existing silk.
