Can be done, but you need a UPVC Primer. The paint company International do a UPVC Primer.
The primer is especially formulated for use on exterior UPVC, giving superior adhesion for exterior gloss topcoats. It can be applied to UPVC window frames, doors, conservatories, soffits and fascias.
It does say the primer should not be left for more than 7 days before applying the topcoat, as the primer is not weather-resistant.
