Ive just had a fairly large extension to the house which reconfigured my existing layout at the same time. Bar a few outstanding snags this is all but complete now. Question is what paperwork do I need from the electrician and heating engineer/plumber. The electrical work was fairly extensive although the plumbers job was more straightforward, installing anew Gas Fire and installing new range cooker (aside from the tinkering with rads etc). I spoke to the builder and he said that they need to send off for the paperwork - is this right? Surely I should get something before they set off into the sunset?

Any guidance/advice greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Electrician should give you a completion certificate. Gas man sends his direct to building control. BC should then issue you with a compliance certificate. Gas fitters do sometimes issue a report of the works carried out to the client but this isn't a legal requirement so he only needs to do it if you specified that at contract stage.

Many thanks John, much appreciated.

Is the electricians certificate a standard format?

Cheers
