Thanks for your reply, Could you give me a rough guide on how you lay them? Is it hard to do?
Cheers

mot down and compacted 100mm thick

lay the slabs on a wet bed of mortar(ie as you would lay bricks but slightly stiffer mix)

point gaps between slabs with adamp mix of mortar.

thats the real basics with the materials, but theres more to it then that. do a bit of research and come back with any specific questions.

Thanks for your reply, I've asked a builder for a price and what materials I need, he's told me to get:

Sand 10 Bags 50/50

10 to dust for concrete 5 bags

3 cerment

Can you explain what it is I need to get, what type of sand is it? also what is 10 to dust for concrete 5 bags?

does the materials sound about right?

Thanks

Not heard of 50/50 sand.....

10 to dust for concrete should be ballast, which you wont be using anyway....

Not heard of cerment, maybe cement....

Check out paving expert dot com for details of how to do it. Oh, and getr a better merchant.

Come back with specific issues as they arise.
