Some advice please form you professionals

Iv drawn up plans for a variation into conditions for a car wash

Conditon 4- change of opening hours
Condition 5= screening, barriers and drainage

Planners want to have a screening to prevent water spray to walking pedestrians.

My idea would be to have 21/2 inch metal poles embedded in concrete and have 18mm perspex sheets fitted in between the poles. Would that be OK?

Also please advice on drainage, Please see decision letter and the drawings which will give you a idea.

Why ask us when your planning department will be the ultimate judge? What are you going to say to your case officer if they say no and we say yes? "But.. the people on the internet said it would be ok..."

Ask them what height they would be happy with and what materials would be required to prevent a deterioration in the road safety considerations with regards to sight lines of cars pulling out of the wash

Also please advice on drainage
Again, you really need to be phoning the council and asking what you can do to make the application acceptable

Thanks i will ask the case officer.

I thought i gets some ideas and knowledge from this thread

it might be worth a call or visit to dana car wash in Lancaster - I notice that they have a very similar site to yours in terms of layout and access - I'm sure they'd have a wealth of information they could tell you about their drainage etc if you asked them nicely

an old streetview:

(they've since increased the size of their spray barriers amongst other things)
