Hi all.
I have just finished building a rear of house single storey extension. I am just about to plasterboard it out onto the inner block wall. Question is...is it best to use plasterboard adhesive or can i use just finish plaster to dot and dab?....basically is there a difference or is it just a pricing con to make you buy much more expensive adhesive when actually its just normal plaster re-packaged?.
sorry for such a basic question.

Don't be silly. Get the Wickes stuff for about £6.50 a big bag - nothing like finish plaster.

def don't use finish for dabbing boards!

for a start it'll probably crack when it dries too quickly and the boards will come back off.

board glue has a consistency that'll allow you to level the boards out more easily that plaster and it'll happily stick to blocks without any prep needed

I've known a couple of builders use Bonding for dabbing but really, why bother? Just as easy to buy the proper materials to start with.
