TIMBER FRAME WALLS - CHANGING DOUBLE SOCKETS FROM PLASTIC TO METAL - TAKEN OUT 25mm METAL SOCKETS AND REMOVED BATTONS AND REPLACED WITH 35mm PLASTIC PLASTERBOARD BACK BOXES, SOCKETS ARE DEAD FLAT SO 25mm WERE TOO SHALLOW - IS THIS SET UP OK FOR TIMBER FAMED, IS IT OK THAT THE INSULATION IS TOUCHING THE BOXES, I HAVE NOT CONNECTED THE EXTRA EARTH FROM METAL SOCKETS TO PLASTIC BOXES AS I HAVE DONE TO METAL BACK BOXES IN THE PAST - IS THIS OK

THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE

Ow, my ears!

What you're doing is ok. No need to earth a plastic box, just run the earth wire to the faceplate. Plasterboard boxes tend to raise the surface slightly and won't have as neat a finish as using 35mm metal boxes, but as a quick solution will do the job.
