I have questions for a project I am doing because I am not very clever and need help in understanding the mechanics of boilers and hope you guys could please help me out:

If a house is fitted with a combi boiler should the non-return valve be connected to the cold mains supply or central heating? Where is the NRV usually found and if it is connected the wrong way around, then is contamination or back flow in the water likely and if so what problems could it cause?

Thanks and are there any images I can find of NRV in place?

Read up on filling loop configuration.
It is an ambiguous question as it does not only apply to combis.

Cheers for the tip and where else can NRV's go apart from on the combi bolier. Are they connected to pipes or the main cold feed?

A nrv is fitted to prevent contamination of cold water supplies. Too much ****e in central heating water to worry about fitting a nrv to prevent contamination..

What's your project?:D
