Getting a new bath fitted soon and need to order a bath waste and plug set to be fitted.

Ive seen many modern bathrooms have pop up bath plugs, however i have my concerns that these may have issues if hair is allowed down them and they cant be cleaned / maintained.

Something like this:

or this cheaper one:

Are they easily cleaned?

Or is it best to go with the traditional bath plug and hole?

On both you can pull the pop up part out for cleaning, I bought the dearer one but found it did not sit flush when closed. so changed it for the cheaper one that does. I have fitted four of these and apart fro one tenant that "forced" the knob too far have never had a problem

The cheaper one looks better. I installed this pop up waste a couple of weeks ago in a standard bath and so far so good, it looks nice and the pop-up mechanism works fine. In fact I'd go so far as to say it makes my cheap bath look like a premium one.The best thing about pop up wastes is that you don't have a messy chain dangling (and rusting!) in the bath.
