Preparing walls for painting

M

marsaday

I am renovating a house and the old plaster is in good condition. I have stripped the walls and have given them a sand over. I just need to use some easi fill on all the blemishes, plus go over where i have rewired and filled with bonding plaster.

Is there anything else i should be doing ? Do you ever seal a wall and how do you do it.

Any tips on renovating old, but ok plaster for paint will be appreciated.

You say you stripped the wales which suggest they were previously papered, if this is the case you need to sugar soap the walls several times to remove the old paste, clean off with clean cold water between ss applications. Or do it the easy way and put a coat of zinnser gardz on prior to painting, rub down first though, it will also prime your filler which is important.
