Hi all,

I've just bought a new oak door, I want to keep the interior faces of the door as nature intended with a bit of wood protector/stain. The exterior faces need to be painted blue to match the rest of the houses in the row.

I'm a bit lost on how to prime the wood, because the exterior 'weathershield' primer I was going to get for the outside is opaque white, while the interior obviously needs to stay clear.

Could I just use the clear protector/stain (Ronseal 5 Year Woodstain) all round and sand it on the exterior faces before applying the paint undercoat?

Any other tips for ensuring good weatherproofing?

Cheers,
Seb
