I have a 9ft X 6ft conservatory which has a tiled concrete floor. Come Spring I intend to dismantle this and replace it with a larger conservatory. My question is, can I just enlarge the existing concrete floor by laying new concrete on 2 sides to enlarge it to the new conservatory size or do I have to break it up and lay all new?

Thanks Woody, I was hoping you would answer. If I did enlarge it am I likely to get shrinkage gaps where the new meets the old do you think?

I can't imagine that you are extending the slab by any amount that will cause any significant shrinkage. The walls are going to prevent any movement, and presumably you will prepare the base to prevent any settling.

So I don't think any special measures need be taken at the joint.
