I have a puegeot 306 1.4 xl
The water temp gauge does not work.
Also the heater gets a little warm but not hot.
I have told it could be the thermostat.
Can anyone please tell me where the thermostat is on this model
or any idea if its not the stat what the problem could be.
Thank you in advance

Find the top radiator hose, and follow it to where it goes into the engine.
The thermostat is located within the housing there.

.... a faulty thermostat would cause the symptoms you describe.

If as John says the thermostat is in the top hose, if it fails the engine will overheat. It will fail closed, not open.

But if someone took the stat, valve out it will give you the symptoms described. So hopefully when you look in there wont be anything there.

Put the new valve in with the main body/spring of the valve towards the engine
