Quick Q I should've asked earlier but -

One of my rads has decided to spring a leak around the top blanking/vent plug. The fibre washer seems to have perished, but at least I've reduced the leak to a weep that can be caught with newspaper and the heat of the rad dries off before it drips.

Bought a replacement vent & blank plug pair from Screwfix at lunchtime, but its just occurred to me that the threads & size might be different between old and new. I know the physical size of the rads changed between imperial and metric, not 100% sure the fittings remained the same - though I've not had any worries with swapping tails so far.

The large standard ones the same diameter as tail pieces are ½" BSP.
Only odd ones are those small ones that are sometimes specific to the rad.

That's plumbing for you, we have gone metric but threads are still the same imperial sizes we were using in Victorian houses :D :D

Rule Britannia! ;)
