Hi have recently moved into an 8-yr old house. It had been empty for several months and we had the whole system (boiler and thermal store) checked over when it was switched on. This was a couple of weeks ago and one of the radiators in the lounge came on fine. Since then it has begun to stay stone cold while all other radiators come on hot. Have removed the TVR and the pin moves freely. Weirdly the outlet pipe is warm to touch but the inlet as cold as the radiator. Have turned off all other radiators and have boiler on full blast and thermostat on max but nothing seems to work. Please any ideas?!

Thanks
Hannah

Hannah have you tried to bleed the radiator , also check that the other valve is open

The "outlet pipe" could be warm because the rest of the return pipe further on will be warm too. As above, bleed the rad, check no-one has turned off the other end, and if all else fails, take the rad off and flush it thru with a hose before re-fitting.

Thanks both, I had bled the radiator and there was no air. By some miracle completely loosening and tightening both ends and powering the boiler and thermostat to full seemed to dislodge some air and now have full heat!

Thanks
Hannah
