I have done a bit of searching for answers already

I have seen suggestions of hammerite rad paint and Zinnser permawhite

Doing up a room where one rad has been painted in the past - don't know what with

The remainders have not been painted since new. ( about the year 2000)
One has the styling clips on the sides/tops, one hasn't

The walls will be white so probably all the rads should be done.

What's the best paint? Roller or brush?
The rads are off the walls so could be painted flat.
What about the styling strips?
The oldest (painted ) rad has round corugations, the newer ones are squarer

Thanks

When I tarted up my radiators:

Removed and laid flat.
removed any trim from sides and top.
Sanded any rust back to metal (if you have any, we did in bathroom).
Painted any bare metal with oil-based primer.
Lightly sanded the whole lot.
Two coats of water-based satin (preferred to gloss).
Reassembled.

Had no problems!
