Hi, I'm putting up new plasterboard in a room, having taken out a stud wall. I've got a big tub of ready mixed plaster from B&Q. Can I use this when I tape and fill the joints? Is there any difference between this and plasterboard jointing compound?

Cheers

Yes, there's a big difference between board finish and drywall compound.

I'm not familiar with what you've got, but, generally speaking if it says it can be used on P/B then use it. You will have to cover the entire board surface, of course, not just the joints.

Note that, depending on the job, you might need different kinds of tape.
