I had the great idea to clean my bricks in my window cill and it looked like I took a bit of the red color off making it look brighter red.

Is there anything which I could now do? Stain it? Seal? Water resilant? Anything?

What exactly was it that you used?

Brick acid is used for cement based stains because the (hydrochloric) acid breaks down the cement.

I used this fila concentrated acid detergent - 50% with water.

Wow, that's certainly cleaner.

Clay bricks so not have any dyes in them to fade or wash out, so it maybe that these have just gone back to their original shade.

Do you think that acid detergent could have taken a bit off the color of those brick?

Would you just clean the other window cills and match them or let the weather / time do its work and they should all look the same in few months?
