I treated my lawn a few weeks back with Scotts Evergreen Complete but in a few places it has strayed onto the patio and it now has brown blotches on the slabs. I have tried the power washer and also bought some patio cleaner and a stiff brush from B&Q but it wont shift it. Any ideas how to remove or what to use to help it shift?

Thanks

Jason

The stains are 'rust' marks from the ferrous sulphate mosskiller in the feed. In my experience nothing will get rid of them because they will have sunk into the slabs and they will slowly fade over (a longish) time.

You should always brush this stuff off slabs before it gets wet.

Yes - he's right you know. Rust. The only thing I can think that might help is an acid based brick/concrete cleaner.

I thought that might have been the problem! I did try and brush most of it off but I must have missed some and now it looks pretty awful! Im going to try a rust remover for cars from Halfords and see if it helps to move any of it, otherwise I might opt for a brightly painted patio :D

Hi Gang

Did you manage to get the stains off, as this has now happened to me : (!

Thanks

Nicola

there are specialist rust removing products because it is probably the most difficult stain to deal with. Try lithofin bero or weiss make one i think its just called weiss rust remover
