Hi,

I am redecorating my bathroom and have run into a slight problem whilst removing the tiles.

The problem is that occasionally, as I removed the tiles, a great lump of plaster (and in some cases plasterboard) came with them!

So - I'm guessing that before I re-tile, I'm going to need a plasterer in to make the wall good again. Thing is - being a cheapskate - is there anything I can do to prep for the work before getting him in to skim?

Should I just take the whole sheet of plasterboard off and replace it? (if so - how?). Or - would I be better off just leaving the plasterer to it?

OR - As I'm going to be retiling, is there a - how can I put it - 'bodge' that I could do to make the surface good enough to tile over?

Thanks,
- Chris
