Removing old polystyrene tiles from the ceiling?
Hi I want to remove some old polystyrene tiles that were put on in the seventies a popular attempt at insulating then. The last time I did this I had to get the ceiling skimmed as the adhesive had eaten into the plaster. It even showed through the new plaster. Can anyone tell me a way to remove them without damaging the ceiling? I am aware that they are a fire hazard and would like to see the back of them.

I know this works because my plaster tried to put on PVA before skimming over the adhesive and it softened it.
