I am wanting to repaint my wooden double storm door (tenement flat, so not outside and exposed to the elements if it makes any difference).
Right now it is black gloss, and I am either going to keep that colour or choose a less shiny grey. Presumably I need to give the door a light sanding first, but what is recommended in terms of coats needed, sanding between etc?
I am looking for a nice finish and while weatherproofing isn't an issue I am keen for it to be as chip resistant as possible.
(oh, one last question - I have a spare tin of Ronseal floor paint which actually has the shade and finish we are looking for. Is it suitable for a door, or would it not go onto a vertical surface at all well?)
