Hi,
The plastic shower tray in my camper van has a couple of hairline cracks in it. To replace the tray would be a major job that I really don’t want to undertake if I can avoid it.
Does anyone know of a coating (plastic or otherwise) that I could use to resurface the tray and hence repair the cracks? The coating would preferably be applied by brush rather than sprayed on.
Thank you.
Wontstart :D

Is the tray actually leaking?
If its a fibreglass one, it may only be cracks in the gloss surface gelcoat, and it could be watertight for ages.
If it is leaking, any brush on compound would only be a temporary bodge but a fibreglass repair could be possible. It wouldn't look very smart though.

Hi John,
It's difficult to say if the tray is actually leaking as the cracks are so fine that any loss of moisture from the tray could equally be by evaporation.
Andy,
Thanks for the reply and the link. Yours and John's replies confirm what I thought, there's really only one way to make a decent permanent repair and that is to change the tray. :(
I was hoping that there might have been an easier way.

Thanks again.

John :)
