Repairing a concrete cill

M

marsaday

The gutter is leaking badly onto this cill and it has over time blown the concrete open.

How do i repair this?

Do i just slap on some new compo after removing all the broken stuff, or would i use pva glue to help it bind ?

You need to use a resin compo for repairs of this nature, you may have to fix a form to achieve the various contours and any loose concrete should be removed before casting. Idyllically any metal (rebar) should be shot blast to remove rust build up, but a chisel used first and some Kurust applied, again before casting. Good luck...pinenot :)

None of the above.

1. First fix the guttering.

2. Next, check the window frame and see if its worth saving, or pulling and replacing with a new frame.

3. The cill appears to be stone not concrete, but no matter, its too far gone to save, and codging it up will only create further difficulties.

4. Remove all the cill and prepare a shuttering box for pouring a new concrete cill.

Yes mate the gutter will be repaired and the window is coming out, but i don't really want to have to replace the cill.

It will be painted black so i will try and use a resin compo.

What is a resin compo exactly then ?
