Hello all.
I have been researching into doing the job and think I can do it..

exept for the possibility of the caliper piston seals leaking..
If that were the case it'll be a garage job :(

What the odds/chances of the piston seals leaking?
The car's a 10 year old nissan micra

The seals will be just fine.....brush the crap away and push the pistons back in slowly......a 'G' cramp is great for this.

There were some 'garage' YouTube videos a few years back and one of them had the guy smearing what looked like 1/2 tube of copper grease all over the back of each pad (rather than a light smear). Avoid it if you see it!

Drill the head off, if all else fails.
Then grip the remaining bit when you take the disk off.

A small cold chisel is ideal for starting those screws if they prove awkward, but worry ye not if you lose them altogether as they are only locators.
With the old disc off, polish the hub shiny with emery cloth and then brush on a thin layer of coppaslip grease before the new disc goes on. This keeps things sweet if the disc has to come off again.

The hammer on old style of impact wrench seems a good tool to have handy for that.

Presumably better than the electric/air impact tools as the hammer on ones also press the bit into the screw.
