I have just bought a house that has a gas fire with back boiler and want to get a combination boiler fitted to remove the unsightly fire and get rid of the water tank in the bathroom so I can fit a bath. I think a 24kw boiler should be adequate for this small 2 bedroom house with 1 bathroom.

Are there special considerations as to the placement of the new boiler?

Should I buy the boiler seperately and just pay for installation?

What sort of price should I expect to pay for this kind of job?

i would get 3 quotes and leave the purchase to the installer unless he dosn't object.
always go with 28 kw for the extra hot water flow rate.
try and locate in kitchen less expensive.
