you need to identify what the wires are on the old backplate, there will be permanant live in switch live out earths and comman neutrals. It is only a timeswitch and the tempus 7 a two output programmer, 3 is hot water and 4 heating
Many thanks to Bab, Londonboy, & D_Hailsham for your replies.
I did find later a post that seem to give me the information.
It was for a Sangamo F4 to Sunvic.
It read
on the sangamo............sunvic
1 = hot water on.............3
2 = hot water off.............1
3 = live ...........................L
4 = neutral......................N
5 = also neutral
6 = there may be a link here to 1, you dont need it
7 = CH off......................2
8 = CH on......................4
Looking at my Sangamo - it did not have any F4 or F1 on the bottom left hand side.
But the 1- 8 terminals did seem to match the wiring diagram on the back of my old Sangamo 401 and the L,N 1,2,3&4 on the Drayton do match the Sunvic.
So I thought I would give that a go this weekend and see how it goes ?
Thanks again for your help
And I will post the results - with picture if it fails.
