Having learnt the hard way that a towel warmer is nowhere near as good as an old fashioned radiator I now need to replace mine.

I am left with limited options though as I have pipes through the wall 450mm apart.

There are products out there that are 500mm by 1800 and seem to give out enough heat - but manufacturers all seem to use different criteria. I have worked out that a higher BTU measured at delta 50 degrees c probably means a warmer radiator.

Will this be a straightforward job?

I have one eye on a stelrad vertical radiator but wouldnt then know where to put my towels!

Well the plumbing is straightforward - for a plumber.
Fixing the legs you get, onto a plasterboard wall, can be 100% impossible without additional measures to spread the load.
