Hi there,

I want to replace my ancient water main from water meter to stopcock with new plastic pipe. Is this notifiable work?

Thanks.

The pipe is your responsibility so presumably replacement is not notifiable.

Don't follow that logic.

It may well not be notifiable, but if so that's nothing to do with whose responsibility it is. His house will be choc-full-o-things which are his responsibility but where replacing them is notifiable....

Notifying the water company maybe?

So they can update their records, especially if you change the route.

You can go ahead and lay it but it will have to be inspected before you refill trench, assuming it is OK(meets regs) they will then connect it to the main supply. So you will have to notify them in order to arrange inspection and reconnection to the Meter.
